Breaking: Congressman And Wife Hospitalized After Car Crash

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and his wife Gisele were admitted to the hospital following a car accident on a Maryland highway on Sunday morning. A representative from Fetterman’s office has informed Breitbart News that the couple has returned to their residence in Braddock, Pennsylvania, and are currently in good health after receiving medical attention at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

The spokesperson further confirmed that the senator had sustained a bruised shoulder and was treated accordingly, emphasizing that their visit to the hospital was a precautionary measure.

“On Sunday morning, John and Gisele were involved in a car accident with another driver,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, they were evaluated at a local hospital. John was treated for a bruised shoulder and they were discharged that afternoon. They are doing well and happy to be back in Braddock.”

Fetterman was said to have been operating a Chevrolet Traverse when the vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Impala on I-70 in Hancock, Maryland, close to the Pennsylvania and West Virginia borders, as confirmed by a Maryland State Police spokesperson to the Daily Mail.

“According to a preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet Traverse and a Chevrolet Impala were both traveling west on I-70 when for unknown reasons, the Traverse struck the rear of the Impala,” the Maryland State Police spokesperson explained. “A passenger in the Traverse and the operator of the Impala were transported by ambulance” to War Memorial Hospital.

During his initial term as a senator representing Pennsylvania, Fetterman encountered a range of health challenges. In May 2022, the former Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, Fetterman, disclosed that he had experienced a stroke. Despite this setback, Fetterman triumphed in the November election, defeating the Republican nominee, Mehmet Oz. Several months later, in February 2023, it came to light that Fetterman had voluntarily admitted himself to a hospital for clinical depression treatment. Since then, Fetterman has been vocal about his battle with depression.
